The museum presents the world´s largest collection on the history of airship navigation as well as an important collection on art in South West Germany from the late Middle Ages to contemporary art.

The main attraction of the museum is the 40 m long reconstruction of part of the LZ 129 Hindenburg in its original size where visitors can walk inside.The authentically fitted passenger rooms give an impression of how people travelled during the period of the Silver Giants.

The school museum gives an overview of the development of schools in southern Germany starting with the monestary school from around 800 a.d. until today.
Altogether 19 rooms present numerous school topics and the development of the different styles of schooling, punishment, report cards, child care, vocational schooling, styles of teaching and learning and the working conditions of the teachers.
The center of the tour  is made up of three classrooms which are arranged in an original manner to show how classes were conducted in the years 1850, 1900 and 1930.

Pfahlbau is a historic building form of lake dwelling. In the Pfahlbau museum, five historic Pfahlbau-villages were reconstructed and you can get hands-on experience of what everyday life in the Stone Age and Bronze Age was like.

The villages are set about 20 meters into the lake and built after original scale. Findings of archeological excavations are on display in the Pfahlbau-houses. Tours are offered on a regular basis.

The lake museum is the boating and fishing museum of the entire Bodensee area. Three vintage sailboats, over 40 models of Bodensee-boats, fishing-groups with boats and equipment and countless photographs showing life on and around the Bodensee are exhibited on over 1500 square meters.
The museum shows no artificial world of adventures, but the natural Bodensee world of the past and today.

Numerous Swabian farmhouses were reconstructed on the 10 hectare compound of the farmhouse- museum and send you more than 300 years back in time. You can retrace the steps of farmers’ families, servants and day-laborers. Many events and animals provide a lively, authentic and fun atmosphere at the museum.
